The publisher publishes a new study entitled “Ransomware Holiday Risk Report“. The end of the year and weekends are times that facilitate attacks with often less vigilance.
Studies highlights:
- Lack of critical personnel at sensitive times : In France, 52% of companies report being fully staffed on weekends, while 46% are only partially staffed, leaving many organizations vulnerable to ransomware attacks.
- Dependence on service outsourcing: almost 47% of French companies outsource their security to external service providers, which can create additional vulnerabilities that cybercriminals can exploit.
- Targeting post-strategic events : 67% of ransomware attacks occur after major corporate events such as a merger, acquisition, IPO, or layoff, highlighting the strategic opportunism of hackers.
- An identity recovery plan is missing : 22% of businesses don’t have an identity recovery plan, which can make attacks even more devastating.
- France leads the way in identity renewal : Most 87% of French companies regularly test the vulnerability of their identity systems and 21% of them perform daily tests, a number significantly higher than the 11% observed in the other countries surveyed.
- Budget dedicated to the defense of identity systems: France is also ahead in this regard, with 68% of companies reporting that they have a budget specifically set aside to protect critical identity systems such as Active Directory, while other countries remain below this level.
