After two iterations that were absent from the French market, Oppo’s Find series is back. The Chinese brand, which should assure its return, formalizes the Find X8 Pro, its new standard bearer. This will have a difficult task to compete with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but also with all the high-end smartphones that the competition has introduced in recent weeks. What are these arguments? Response.
Almost two years ago, Oppo publicly entered into a conflict with Nokia over fundamental patents. Justice forces the brand to temporarily withdraw its products from some markets, including France. Oppo won this legal battle. But that didn’t stop him from leaving the countries in question. As a result, two generations of the Find did not find their way onto French shelves: The Find the X6 Pro and Find the X7 Ultra. Two phones that received excellent reviews wherever they were available.

In 2024, Oppo returned to France. We have largely returned to this return. And to reconnect with its audience, the Chinese brand opted for a measured, cautious and modest return. With Reno 12, the Pro version of which we tested. And with the A series for slightly tighter budgets. However, the French subsidiary wanted to relaunch the Find range. In particular, the brand’s annual flagship, the distant successor to the Find X5 Pro, which we tested in 2022.
Oppo makes a remarkable return to the high-end with the Find X8 Pro
So here is the Find X8 Pro. A premium smartphone introduced in China more than a month ago. But a smartphone that challenges us on several points. Be it design, materials, components or user experience. Glass. Metal. Very nice screen on the front. An amazing platform at its heart accompanied by an improved passive cooling system. Huge battery that charges fast.
Let’s not forget that huge circular photo module inherited from the two previous Find X (and inspired by Huawei and Honor, let’s be honest). In this module we find a photo configuration close (but not identical) to the Find X7 Ultra and still optimized by Hasselblad, but without the Marisilicon X image coprocessor. Hardware button like on Sony Xperia and Apple iPhone 16. Finally we find ColorOS 15, based on Android 15 and loaded with artificial intelligence, of course especially for productivity and photography. Circle to Search and Gemini use Google technology.
The technical sheet of Find X8 Pro is really convincing
Here is a list of technical features of Find X8 Pro that you must not miss:
- Display AMOLED LTPO Full HD+ 120 Hz 6.78 inches
- MediaTek Dimensions 9400 engraved in 3 nm
- 16 GB RAM a 512 GB storage
- Battery 5910 mAh compatible with fast charging 100 watts and 50W wireless charging
- Four photo sensors 50 megapixels with automatic focus on all modules, three optical stabilizers, two optical zooms
- 32 megapixel selfie sensor
- Android 15 (and ColorOS 15)
The smartphone will be available in France in early December. His price will be 1199 euros. It comes in a single configuration but in two different colors, “space black” gray and white. This price seems fair to us, very fair. And it reminds us of Honor’s strategy when it returned to the high end with the Magic4 Pro. Let’s hope Oppo maintains this price for years to come.
