Nexar has launched a new member of the beam2 line of on-board cameras, the beam2 mini LTE. The company’s new dashcam is designed to get up to 1080p resolution from its sensor. However, Nexar did not reveal the details of the sensor. For comparison, the original model, beam2(currently $236 on Amazon), offers images in 2K resolution.
Beam2 mini also comes with a host of features including live parking mode, remote video streaming, 24/7 monitoring, emergency alerts, live GPS tracking, instant clip sharing and real-time alerts. Unfortunately, Nexar’s new car tracking system does not include a crash sensor New Nexar car tracking system.
The dashcam also comes with built-in GPS with route tracking. Still, support for Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 and 5GHz WiFi allows potentially faster data transfer. Nexar eliminates the need for a microSD card by integrating 64GB of storage. The brand also offers models with 128 and 256 GB of storage. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated slot for storage expansion.
Finally, you can also control the beam2 mini via Nexar’s Connect companion app. The app enables several features such as multi-camera connectivity, customization of parking modes, remote video streaming, unlimited cloud storage, content access and sharing. Note that Nexar Connect requires a subscription to access all of its features. A subscription will cost you $9.99 per month.
The Nexar beam2 mini LTE is available now on Nexar’s official website for $119.95 for the 64GB model. The package includes dash cam, OBD kit, installation tools and clips. Visit the official beam2 mini LTE product page for more information.
