What if we told you that with just a few clicks, you can significantly improve the fluidity of your Android smartphone? SFR news explains how to access this hidden trick.
If your Android smartphone seems too slow, rest assured that there are simple and effective tips to boost it without being a tech expert. A recent article from a niche site ZDNET in particular, it suggests editing animations as the most affordable method to speed up your Android device. Changing these settings will have a really significant impact on the smoothness of your navigation. Here’s how to do it in a few easy steps!
1. Enable developer options
Before you can change the speed of the animations, it is necessary to unlock the “developer options” of your smartphone. Don’t worry, it’s safe for your device and gives you access to advanced settings that are normally hidden.
To enable developer options:
- Go to Device Settings;
- Scroll down until you find “About Phone”;
- Find the “Software Information” option and tap on it;
- Find the “Build Number” field and tap on it seven times in a row ;
- A message will appear indicating the number of presses left to activate developer options.
- If you have an unlock PIN or gesture, you will be asked to confirm activation.
Once enabled, developer options will be visible at the bottom of the settings list.
2. Adjust the speed of animations
Now that developer options are enabled, you can change the speed of animations, making the interface more responsive and fluid. For this:
- Go back to the main “Settings” page and go to “Developer options” at the bottom of the list.
- In this menu, scroll down to the “Drawing” section. Here you will find three key settings related to animations:
- Window animation scale: This controls the speed at which windows and applications are displayed.
- Transition animation scale: Determines the transition speed between screens and applications.
- Animator Duration Scale: Affects the duration of UI animations such as opening and closing applications.
For each of these settings, the default animation scale is set to 1x. Reducing it to 0.5x will reduce the time it takes to render animations, making the device look faster. For an even more drastic effect, you can also select “Off” to remove animations entirely.
After making the changes, try to navigate the phone interface: launch and close applications, switch between screens or return to the home screen. You will notice an improvement in the responsiveness of your device.
A few more tips to optimize your Android speed
These simple animation changes may seem minor, but they can really breathe new life into your device. But to go further, here are some more tips to help improve your smartphone’s performance:
- Remove unused applications. A large number of applications consumes memory and reduces performance.
- Clean your cache regularly. Accumulating too many temporary files can slow down your device.
- Limit widgets and live wallpapers. Although these items are attractive, they can consume resources.
